Helping to shape young minds
Jennifer has worked at Christ Church Preschool since 2007. She believes in educating and shaping young minds so that they can reach their full potential. With great energy and enthusiasm she teaches them to be sharing and caring people. Jennifer graduated from Duquesne University with majors in communication and psychology. She has completed graduate course work in Child Development at the University of Pittsburgh.
Karen is the newest addition to our preschool staff. She has a Bachelor of Music and a minor in Early
Childhood Education from Mercyhurst University. Karen lives in the North Hills with her husband and three children. All three children attended Christ Church Preschool, so while Karen is a new teacher, she is not new to the Christ Church Preschool family.
Teresa has been teaching at Christ Church Preschool since 2005. She started off as a Great Start Teacher and is now a teacher for the four-year-old class. She also helps with Lunch Bunch. Teresa graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She and her husband have four children who all attended Christ Church Preschool.
Terri has been teaching at the Preschool since 2006. She currently is assisting with the 3-year old class. She earned a BS in Marketing from Penn State University. She has two sons and a daughter; her youngest child attended Christ Church Preschool. Terri’s experience with our Great Start program as well as directing Lunch Bunch gives her great insight into understanding a Child’s development.
Lisa has been serving as the President of the Preschool Board since 2009. She has been teaching at the Preschool since 2014, starting in the 2-year-old class and also functioning as a substitute teacher in the 3’s and 4’s classes. She currently directs the Lunch Bunch program. Lisa graduated from Allegheny College with a BS in Physics. She and her husband are long time members of Christ Episcopal Church and have three children, all of whom attended Christ Church Preschool.
Emily has been a Preschool board member since 2021 when her oldest child was in the 3’s class. Emily took over the position of Registrar in 2013. In addition, she serves as a substitute teacher, helps with the Lunch Bunch program, and has assisted as facilities coordinator. She graduated from
Westminster College with a degree in Religion and Christian Education. Emily and her husband have four children who all attended Christ Church Preschool.
Jan has served at the Preschool’s treasurer since 1987; she is also the Parish Treasurer for Christ Episcopal Church. She earned a Liberal Arts degree from Kent State University and moved to Pittsburgh in 1980 with her husband and son. Jan worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Bank of New York Mellon for 18 years. Although she does not participate directly in the education of the children, she’s very focused on the stability of the preschool and its value to the community.
